Wall thickness review
Checked for uniformity and target range for the selected resin to control sink, warp, and cycle time.

Draft angle is matched to wall height and any specified surface texture.

Rib thickness relative to nominal wall is checked to avoid sink on cosmetic surfaces.

Gate and parting line proposal
Gate location is proposed based on fill pattern, cosmetic requirements, and part function.
Part design considerations
- Wall thickness: aim for uniform sections; thick sections cause sink, warp, and longer cycle times
- Draft: typically 0.5–2° minimum per side depending on wall height and texture
- Ribs: generally 50–60% of nominal wall thickness to avoid sink-through on the opposite face
- Radii: internal and external corners should carry radius to reduce stress concentration and improve fill
DFM guidance
- Bring us the model early — DFM feedback before quoting is free; DFM feedback after tooling is cut is a change order
- Tell us the cosmetic priority surfaces so gate and knit-line placement can avoid them
- If a design rule can't be met (e.g., a required thick boss), we'll tell you the tradeoff — sink risk, longer cycle time, or a design change — rather than silently molding it and hoping
Quality controls
- DFM findings documented and shared with the customer before tool build begins
- First-article inspection validates the as-molded part against the reviewed design

Yes, DFM review is included as part of quoting — it's how we generate an accurate tooling and part quote in the first place.
What if I can't change the design?
We'll mold to a fixed design when required, but we'll document the tradeoffs (cosmetic risk, cycle time, potential yield impact) up front so there are no surprises at first article.
